Austin brunch lovers, we’re thrilled to share the news! On October 1st, Fat Rabbit Social House officially opens its doors at 35 Brazos Street, bringing a fresh new brunch experience to downtown Austin - just steps away from Lady Bird Lake.
If you loved the vibe at Forthright, you’ll feel right at home here. Owner and operator Rachael Treadwell - former GM of Copper Restaurant & Dessert Lounge (home of Austin Cake Ball) in The Domain for over a decade - has taken everything she learned as Forthright’s manager and poured it into this new restaurant. The result? A lively gathering spot featuring brunch-forward dishes, handcrafted cocktails, and specialty coffee - all in the heart of Austin, TX.
The Brunch Menu
We’ve created a menu that celebrates both comfort food and fresh, creative flavors. Highlights include:
The Sunrise Acai Bowl with seasonal berries, bananas, homemade granola, hemp seeds, toasted coconut flakes, and a dollop of peanut butter
Chicken & Waffles, an Austin brunch staple with a Fat Rabbit twist
Avocado Toast with two perfectly poached eggs layered on slow dough harvest grain bread, topped with creamy avocado, crunchy pepitas, crisp radish, and a sprinkle of sea salt, served alongside fresh mixed greens.
The American Breakfast with two farm-fresh eggs, golden sourdough toast topped with house-made seasonal jam, crispy herb-roasted hash browns, and your choice of smoky bacon, savory pork sausage patty, or fresh avocado.
Homemade Biscuits baked fresh in-house and served warm with whipped butter and a side of seasonal jam.
During the week, you’ll also find a robust lunch menu, featuring comforting favorites like adult grilled cheese + tomato bisque, a smash burger + parmesan fries, truffle cheese + bacon paninis, and deviled eggs. And don’t forget to try our freshly baked pastries, made daily.
Cocktails + Coffee in Austin
When it comes to brunch cocktails, our bar program is here to impress. Backed by Rachael’s 30 years of bartending experience (including being named Dallas’s Best Bartender), we’re serving up creative spins on classics. Guests can also enjoy our $10 mix-your-own mimosa bar, complete with fresh juices and a full bottle of champagne!
For coffee lovers, Fat Rabbit Social House partners with Tiny House Coffee Roasters, ensuring every cup of specialty coffee is crafted to perfection. Whether you’re grabbing a latte before work or sipping coffee alongside brunch, you’ll taste the difference.
The Space
Our downtown Austin restaurant was designed to feel like an urban oasis. With warm copper and brass accents, lush greenery, and playful rabbit-themed art, it’s a space that feels inviting for everyone. From solo coffee runs to group brunches, we’ve created a welcoming atmosphere where Austin’s energy truly comes alive.
The Patio
There’s no better way to enjoy brunch in Austin than outdoors, and Fat Rabbit’s spacious patio was designed with that in mind! Shaded by oak trees and lined with greenery, the patio offers plenty of seating for groups, weekday lunches, or weekend brunch dates. String lights create a warm glow in the evenings, while umbrellas provide a cozy retreat from the Texas sun during the day. Just steps from Town Lake, it’s the perfect spot to sip a mimosa, share a plate of lavender goat cheese balls, and take in the energy of downtown Austin.

✨ Walk-ins are always welcome! Fat Rabbit Social House is located inside the San Jacinto Center with free parking available on the west and east sides of the building.
On weekends, guests can also enjoy validated garage parking inside the San Jacinto Center. Simply pull a ticket when you enter and bring it with you to the restaurant. After you’ve dined with us, we will give you a sales receipt with a QR code. You’ll then use this when exiting the garage by scanning the code at the bottom of the machine on your way out of the garage. With validation, parking is a flat fee of $10 for up to 3 hours (standard rates apply after 3 hours). Have more questions about parking? Just ask - we promise the brunch is worth it.
